A new digital ecosystem for the Municipalities' Newspaper of ANCI Digitale

GOAL

Editorial Evolution: Modernising Identity and Managing the Visibility of the Historical Archive

The main objective was modernise the entire infrastructure and the’Aesthetics of the Municipal Journal to transform it into an editorial portal contemporary, authoritative and structured, without compromising the immense heritage historian existing.

To meet these needs we have redesigned the graphical interface from scratch and visual identity (site, articles, categories and logo), introducing dynamic navigation logic with Bespoke menus for each macro-category and a system of migration massive for the Over 25,000 items under a single optimised template.

The technological heart of the platform is represented by two custom plugins developed from scratch:

  • The first, called Paywall Manager, it interfaces on the server-side with an external REST API to To verify user subscriptions in total security, including also a system of Tracking anti-incognito based on cookies and IP hashing to prevent block circumvention.
  • The second plugin, ANCI Placeholder Sync, it was designed to process historical content in batches, conditionally replacing the old images highlighted with a placeholder institutional and permanently deleting unused physical files from the server to reclaim valuable space, ensuring processing continuity with an automatic recovery system in case of timeout.
